Coffee and Cake, what could be better?

MacMillan Coffee Morning @ Woodfield School

On Friday 25th September the 6th Form hosted a coffee and cake morning as part of the MacMillan Cancer Trust ‘Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning’.

Year 12 learners worked extremely hard during the morning, firstly making some fantastic cakes in their catering lesson, then serving a range of tea, coffee and cakes to the sugar hungry guests!

Staff members of Woodfield School support and contributed to the fund raising activity in many ways: baking or donating cakes, drinking tea and fresh coffee and most importantly donating money in exchange for their refreshments.

The 6th form Zone created a great backdrop to the morning, funky music, the smell of coffee in the air, the buzz of conversation and a feast of amazing cakes from a very indulgent sponge and fresh fruit cake, cup cakes donated by Lolas Cup Cakes, wheat, gluten and dairy free brownies, chocolate cakes and a very special birthday cake for one of the learners.

The morning raised £174.20 for MacMillan Cancer Support.

Due to further requests, the 6th Form will hosting another fund raising coffee and cake morning next term, the charity to be supported is on the agenda at the forthcoming 6th Form Committee meeting any suggestions please contact the 6th Form.

A huge thank you to all those who supported this event.
