Woodfield makes @Kiva loan to help in the Philippines

Year 9 have made another loan to help a woman who lives in the Philippines.

 

You have probably already heard of Typhoon Hainan which killed a lot of people in the Philippines. We decided to help someone in the country in addition to holding a non uniform day to raise money for the relief effort.

As a married mother of four children, Amalia works hard to support her family.

 

She has a business selling banana in the Philippines, and earns additional income from food vending and tricycle transportation. Amalia is borrowing PHP 30,000 through NWTF in order to buy more stocks of banana to sell to customers.

Amalia has been sustaining her business activities through her past 19 loans from NWTF. She hopes that her hard work will help her attain her dream to save money so she can afford to send her children to college.
