Brehima, age 41, lives with his five children and his wife in Simidji, sub-prefecture of Ouélessébougou, in the Koulikoro region.

Brehima did not have the opportunity to go to school. Early on, he developed an interest for income-generating activities, namely the purchase, storage and sale of cereals. He learned this activity alongside his maternal uncle who was once an important cereals merchant.

To meet the needs of a growing customer base, he decided to partner with Soro Yiriwaso. Having correctly repaid his first loan, he is now seeking a 2nd individual loan to buy three tonnes of cereals from local producers in Simidji and surrounding areas, which he will keep in storage for a while. He sells wholesale and retail to a clientele that consists of resellers from larger cities such as Bamako, in Ouélessébougou.

Brehima hopes to earn an average monthly profit of 40,000 FCFA, which he will use to repay the loan and to invest in his business.
