Key Stage 5 News

Dear Parents and Carers,

KS5 Pupil Information

I am writing to update you on the position of staffing at Woodfield School and the impact on continuing to support all pupils safely.

As of this morning we have 20+ staff self-isolating on advice from NHS and / or GP’s. This is a critical level and we are unable to sustain adequate staffing resources to ensure that the safety of staff and pupils is maintained throughout the school.

Over the coming days I am expecting more staff to be self-isolating or develop symptoms of the Covid-19 virus. Therefore, with the support of the Chair of the Governors and Chief Executive Officer, a decision has been made for Key Stage 5 pupils to remain at home from tomorrow (Wednesday 18th March) until further notice. That way I can continue to support the younger pupils through redeployment of remaining Key Stage 5 staff. These are drastic measures that I feel are in the best interests of pupils and staff at this moment in time. Teachers and Form Tutors will be in contact providing work for pupils to do at home in the coming days.

I will keep you informed of any further changes.

I greatly appreciate your understanding at this most difficult time. I wish you and your loved ones good health in the coming weeks.

Kindest Regards

Nick Cooper
