This is a practical based course undertaking a range of catering activities that will equip them with the knowledge, skills and/or personal attributes required for work enabling them to complete tasks during a work placement. Learners develop a wide range of practical and communication skills whilst providing a service for Woodfield pupils.

Learners develop a range of catering skills completing sessions in Health and Safety, bread making, pastries both sweet and savoury. Learners also learn the many different techniques when preparing food and build upon previous learning and techniques. Integral intro the catering course is an understanding of financial awareness from ordering and budgeting to serving customers and the transfer of money for cooked products

Learners have operated the following

•Breakfast Club

•Afternoon Teas

•Café 3 at The Village School

The ‘Delish Café’

Work Experience Catering running the café 3 at The Village School and supporting the main cafeteria providing meals for over 180 Staff.

Learners continue to develop skills in catering post Woodfield School. They have access to the Caterlink Pre Internship course based at the Wembley site CNWL
