Pugleys

This project will further develop understanding and skills the pupils have previously gained. It builds upon their knowledge of materials, artist and approaches to thematic ways of working. In this unit of work pupils will develop an understanding 3dimensional sculpture. The project investigates the theme of ‘Pugleys’ which are based on friendly monsters. Creating their own personal 3D monster using air drying clay no bigger than hand held in size, using modelling tools for the features.

      

    

Pupils will during this project:

Create a three-dimensional sculpture in air drying clay based upon their final designs
Create a mood board to reflect the theme
Use a variety of approaches when applying themselves to the theme
Create an artefact from imagination
Be aware of the term recycled art
Produce a tonal drawing of their selected object
Collect examples of ceramic sculptures
Know what a tonal range is
Use a wide range of materials
Make changes to their work as an ongoing process
Make a choice between materials to improve performance and aesthetics
Be aware of 3D shapes
Improve hand manipulative skills and material handling
Apply media, techniques, and processes with skill, confidence, and sensitivity that their intentions are carried out in their artworks
