Woodfield School, part of Compass Learning Partnership

Class-based Teacher needed from September 2021.

Main Professional Scale + 1 SEN

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic teacher to work as a class-based teacher delivering all aspects of the Woodfield curriculum to pupils with SEND. This is a permanent contract.  

Woodfield School is a forward thinking Special Educational Needs school seeking to employ inspirational teachers who can create stimulating and aspirational learning experiences that prepare our students for adulthood. The students' holistic development is at the heart of what we do here at Woodfield. If you have a proven track record of supporting and developing excellent progress academically, as well as against EHCP outcomes, then we’d love to have you join the team.

The person appointed will: 

• Deliver the curriculum underpinned by communication strategies to meet the needs of pupils. 

• Teach relevant Schemes of Learning, adapting, and refining the work to meet the learning needs of the pupils.

• Assess pupils’ knowledge and understanding scaffolding their next steps accurately 

• Be able to use ICT interactively to support teaching, learning and assessment

• Have a sound knowledge of how to teach pupils using multi-sensory strategies and implementing intervention where needed to ensure all pupils make outstanding progress from their starting points.

• Be responsible for good practice in health and safety and risk assessment in the learning environment

• Be a form tutor responsible for Personalised Learning Plans, EHCP’s and monitoring the holistic development of all pupils in Preparation for Adulthood.

Woodfield School is an outstanding secondary special school for pupils aged from 11 to 19 with moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties and autism. Teamwork and collaborative teaching and planning are essential in our school underpinned by our ethos of creating stimulating and aspirational learning experiences that prepare each student for adulthood.

We are currently looking to appoint an inspirational, highly motivated and forward-thinking teacher, with the energy and passion to change lives. This post is a role supporting learners with SEND in The Village School as part of the Compass Learning Partnership Multi Academy Trust, but you may be required to work across the Trust.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Impact positively on all stake holders and the wider community
  • Have previous experience of working within an Inclusive team and be committed to promoting inclusive education
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to motivate young children, and build on their successes.
  • Have had some previous experience of teaching young people with SEND;
  • Work closely within the wider school and Trust teams;
  • Have a passion for SEND and the Inclusion Agenda;
  • Be able to undertake and manage staff to deliver specialist teaching on a 1:1, small group and whole-class basis;
  • Be a motivational teacher for all abilities ensuring learning is engaging, stimulating and inclusive;
  • Work within and contribute to the school community;
  • Have a commitment to an integrated, therapeutic approach and ethos; 
  • Be very flexible, resilient and adapt quickly to change

We are currently looking to appoint an inspirational and highly motivated music teacher, with the energy and passion to change the lives of our children. This post is a role supporting learners with SEND in The Village School as part of the Compass Learning Partnership Multi Academy Trust. The school has a strong music tradition and this will suit a candidate with experience and high standards. 
The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Have a passion for music, SEND and the inclusion agenda
  • Have previous experience of leading music sessions with children or young people with SEND
  • Be a team player and committed to promoting inclusive education
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and ability to motivate young children, pass on a passion for music and aim for outstanding progress for all our pupils
  • Show an awareness of, and contribute to, how music can impact positively on all stakeholders and the wider community
  • Work closely with the expressive arts team, the wider school team and to contribute, where needed, to the wider trust teams
  • Be able to manage staff, external arts practitioners and project leaders to assist in delivering music and the wider arts curriculum
  • Deliver fun, engaging, stimulating and inclusive sessions which are rooted in good planning and assessment
  • Have a commitment to an integrated, therapeutic approach and ethos and to be innovative and confident in trying out new techniques
  • Be very flexible, resilient and adapt quickly to change and willing to embark on specialist training for the role

TEACHING ASSISTANT VACANCIES – THE VILLAGE SCHOOL

Would you like an opportunity in a Special School for students and pupils between the ages of 4-19 with a range of Special Educational Needs in a friendly, supportive school, committed to teamwork and joint curriculum planning? 

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has: 

• NVQ 2 or equivalent childcare qualification or a commitment to training towards this qualification

• Experience of working with young children

• Excellent communication and organisational skills. 

• The enthusiasm and ability to motivate young children and build on their successes.

• A commitment to high expectations to meet the needs of all children.

• Experience of working collaboratively within a team of people to provide a stimulating learning environment.

• The ability to share your expertise, knowledge and understanding of young children’s needs and achievements with parents. 

• Willingness to give 200%! 

Hours of work will be 8.45am – 3.45pm – Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 8.45am – 5pm on Tuesday (32.5 hours per week), including a 45 minute break throughout the day, but will be subject to change from time to time with notice.   This is a term time only post
