Woodfield Closed until April 20th
Both Woodfield school and The Village school will be closed from tomorrow, Thursday 19th March. We will be closing for the rest of this term and hoping, pending Government instruction, to re-open on the 20th April.
This is due to the following reasons:
- We have insufficient staff available across the skillsets we require to be safe. The vast majority of staff absent are required to self isolate for 14 days and this is a moving picture.
- Of even greater concern, given the vulnerability of our pupils, at The village School alone we have significant numbers of pupils (over 100) off school today either self isolating with families or with undiagnosed/ untested issues (including temperatures/ coughs).
- We have as part of our normal set up, staff and pupils moving between the two schools and both schools are experiencing extreme staff shortages as of this week.
Our closure is a necessity for the safety of our community.
The two schools will be providing advice on some online education access for pupils. The relevant authorities and services have been informed.
