Dear Parents, Carers and Families

After long deliberation and consultation with the ELT and after agreement by Trustees, a decision has been made to close the school this week to all pupils except those who are identified as the most vulnerable and those who have parents / carers that are identified as key / critical workers.

Teaching will revert to virtual teaching for the week from Tuesday 5th January. This decision has not been made lightly and has been taken not only to protect pupils and staff but also in response to the number of staff who have currently tested positive, are awaiting test results or are isolating due to contact with a positive case. Your child's form tutor or member of the class team will be in touch with you on Monday with further details.

We will be setting up the Lateral Flow Testing onsite this week and hope to have this operational by Monday 11th January. Key staff will be asked to fulfil various roles within the testing programme, external staff may also need to be employed to complete various roles. We will be sending out further information regarding all of this. I just wanted to assure you that no testing would take place without your consent and permission.

We will be getting in contact with all parents and carers on Monday to discuss your current needs and what can be provided for you in this first week. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to ensure that your young person can physically be back in school as quickly and safely as possible.
